Cine film
Standard 8mm, Super 8, 9.5mm and 16mm reels — with or without sound. Each reel is assessed, cleaned, repaired if needed, then scanned frame-by-frame for crisp HD output.

How we do it
A specialist lab. A personal driver. Sixteen years of trust.
Cine and video transfer needs specialist equipment — frame-by-frame HD scanners, vintage tape decks, audio restoration software — that no high-street shop can justify on its own. So we work with a long-standing UK partner lab who do nothing but this.
What makes the difference: their own driver collects every order in person, fortnightly, from our shop. Nothing is risked to the post or third-party couriers. Your one-of-one originals travel by hand, get returned by hand, and we’re your single point of contact throughout.

Common questions
Before you bring it in.
How long does it take?
The partner lab’s driver collects from us every fortnight, and most orders come back to us the following week. So plan for around 2–3 weeks from drop-off to ready-for-collection — we’ll give you a firmer date when you bring everything in.
Should I choose DVD or USB / MP4?
MP4 on a USB drive is the better choice for most people now — it plays on smart TVs, laptops, phones, and can be uploaded to cloud storage or shared easily. DVDs are still available if you have a preferred player or want chapter menus, but they’re a fading format. We’ll happily talk it through with you.
My cine film has sound — can you transfer that too?
Yes. Cine film with sound has either a brown magnetic stripe along the edge, or an optical waveform — both can be transferred. There’s a 50% surcharge on the standard reel pricing for sound transfer.
Will I get my originals back?
Always. Every reel, tape, slide and record comes back to you with your finished digital files. Nothing is kept, nothing is destroyed.
How should I pack things for drop-off?
A sturdy bag or box is fine. If you want slides or tapes transferred in a specific numbered order, please number each item individually — numbered trays or carousels alone aren’t enough, since everything gets handled out of the original tray during transfer.
What if my tape is broken or mouldy?
Worth bringing in. Snapped tapes, broken cases, and even mouldy reels can often be repaired and transferred successfully — tape repair is £15, then standard transfer pricing applies. We don’t recommend playing spliced tapes in your own machine; let us repair it first.
